We Have a New Record Holder in Competitive Hot Dog Eating!

It's understandable if, somehow, you overlooked this bit of food news, but over the weekend, Joey Chestnut retained his title in Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest. He wolfed down 68 dogs and buns in 10 minutes, a new world record. Judges, I'm told, are testing for signs of tapeworm cheating.

Eating competitions are so fierce! Just went to the burger eating contest last week @ Z Burger and it was amazing to see contestants attempt to eat 30 burgers in 10 minutes. It takes us longer than that just to get through the first of half of these burgers which are delicious, by the way.

I still don't understand why Ben's doesn't sponsor a halfsmoke eating contest. For the price of a couple boxes of halfsmokes, they'd get tons of local publicity. But whatever money they'd make would be lost on the janitor bill, so forget what I just said.
