We're definitely in the camp that says don't go out to dinner on Valentine's Day; we stay in and cook something special that night. That being said, we do like to go out either the weekend before or the weekend after the actual day - you get the restaurant's standard menu and service, but you can still enjoy the spirit of the holiday.

Oh jeez, that's funny. I completely agree about V-day. Paul and I have gone out a couple of times to restaurants on V-day and it always feels rushed and less romantic than when we stay home and cook for each other. Even when we have a pile of laundry in the other room, it's STILL more romantic than going out.
