D.C. Winter Restaurant Week Set for Feb. 16-22
Organizers of D.C.’s Winter Restaurant Week, who wisely delayed the January promotion while they had a captive market of tourists during Obama’s inauguration, have finally set the dates for the discounted Snarf-fest: Feb. 16-22.
Smart timing, I’d say. Restaurants get another rush of customers following the cash-cow that is Valentine’s Day. Perhaps the winter won’t suck so hard for local restaurants, after all.
The prices will remain essentially unchanged from the summer promotion: A three-course fixed-price lunch will set you back $20.09, while a three-course fixed-price dinner will run you $35.09. Whether this represents a deal or not depends, I think, on what restaurant you select. In other words, pick up the phone and make a reservation for the high-end spots—Adour, Charlie Palmer Steak, Bistro Bis, Teatro Goldoni, the Oval Room, VOLT, hell even the pricey Chima Brazilian Steakhouse (if that’s your thing).
