D.C. Winter Restaurant Week Set for Feb. 16-22

Organizers of D.C.'s Winter Restaurant Week, who wisely delayed the January promotion while they had a captive market of tourists during Obama's inauguration, have finally set the dates for the discounted Snarf-fest: Feb. 16-22.

Smart timing, I'd say. Restaurants get another rush of customers following the cash-cow that is Valentine's Day. Perhaps the winter won't suck so hard for local restaurants, after all.

The prices will remain essentially unchanged from the summer promotion: A three-course fixed-price lunch will set you back $20.09, while a three-course fixed-price dinner will run you $35.09. Whether this represents a deal or not depends, I think, on what restaurant you select. In other words, pick up the phone and make a reservation for the high-end spots—Adour, Charlie Palmer Steak, Bistro Bis, Teatro Goldoni, the Oval Room, VOLT, hell even the pricey Chima Brazilian Steakhouse (if that's your thing).

You can find the full list of participating restaurants here.
