Just finished Waiter Rant myself and loved it. This fairly recent obsession with Pure Fiction and Pure True seems a bit silly to me. It's all James Frey's fault.

I have always preferred the slightly silly tagline-If It's Not The Way It Happened, It's The Way It Should Have Happened.

Ranter Rant was a great read and it all sounded true enough to me.

3.	I am unable to see why it is that you feel this one particular portion of the book is not true. Is it that you are implying a waiter isn't capable of harboring such knowledge? Being a server myself, I am in much belief that this story is true. I have seen many instances similar to this one occur between me and my own customers. Nothing surprises me anymore as the requests and concerns of the general public is growingly bizarre. Also with the stereotype that waiters are stupid and all they are capable of is delivering food is ridiculous and which is why every chance we have to show our knowledge to our customers, we will.
