* On the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, a man rammed an "older SUV" into a Minnesota Planned Parenthood, preventing no abortions and hurting no one. "It's never happened before and we don't expect it to happen again," said a regional exec.

* On the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Tiger Beatdown participated in "Blog for Choice" by imagining the decision on its 36th birthday: "Roe vs. Wade is thirty-six years old today! This means that, if it were a person, its friends and relatives would already be talking to it about how it totally should have had a baby by now, don't you think?"

* On the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, President Obama issued a statement reaffirming his commitment to "protecting a woman's right to choose" and "ensuring that our daughters have the same rights and opportunities as our sons," surely disappointing that guy (above). On the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we are reminded that this decision not only protects women’s health and reproductive freedom, but stands for a broader principle: that government should not intrude on our most private family matters. I remain committed to protecting a woman’s right to choose.

While this is a sensitive and often divisive issue, no matter what our views, we are united in our determination to prevent unintended pregnancies, reduce the need for abortion, and support women and families in the choices they make. To accomplish these goals, we must work to find common ground to expand access to affordable contraception, accurate health information, and preventative services.

On this anniversary, we must also recommit ourselves more broadly to ensuring that our daughters have the same rights and opportunities as our sons: the chance to attain a world-class education; to have fulfilling careers in any industry; to be treated fairly and paid equally for their work; and to have no limits on their dreams. That is what I want for women everywhere.

Today is the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court case that established a woman's constitutional right to an abortion. This was a great day for pro-choice women, but the pro-lifers have always celebrated it the hardest. Today, thousands of anti-abortion activists will descend on Washington, D.C. to protest the 36-year-old decision in front of the downtown Planned Parenthood clinic, the U.S. Capitol, and the U.S. Supreme Court in the March for Life 2009. Here's a map of their protest plans.

In an interview released today, Couric asks Palin and Joe Biden essentially the same questions: "Why do you think Roe v. Wade was a good/bad decision?" and "Are there Supreme Court decisions you disagree with?" Biden answers them; Palin leaves me with a rage that I fear can only be satiated by gunning down a wild Alaskan wolf from an aircraft.

Palin: Well, let's see. There's, of course in the great history of America there have been rulings, that's never going to be absolute consensus by every American. And there are those issues, again, like Roe v. Wade, where I believe are best held on a state level and addressed there. So you know, going through the history of America, there would be others but …

Couric: Can you think of any?

Palin: Well, I could think of … any again, that could be best dealt with on a more local level. Maybe I would take issue with. But, you know, as mayor, and then as governor and even as a vice president, if I'm so privileged to serve, wouldn't be in a position of changing those things but in supporting the law of the land as it reads today.

Seriously, could Sarah Palin pass the Q-and-A portion of the Miss America pageant? Maybe this is why Palin couldn't clinch the Miss Alaska title—it sure wasn't the swimsuit portion.
