Next time: try stiffer, less overtly evil.

The Morning After: First Bling Edition

* Tim Dickinson for Rolling Stone on why Prop 8 failed. (Hint: It wasn't Mormon or black voters, but it might have been you).

And yet, Mike Riggs and I brave the conversational waters again today [...]

Local news footage of one aspect of the Prop 8 aftermath: Violent protest. A Palm Springs protest leads to loud opposition to "Phyllis," a Prop 8 supporter who arrives on the scene to "express her views" to the news crew. Phyllis is met by screams from protesters before she even speaks to the cameras. The [...]

Gay Marriage as Olympic Sport

Former City Paper editor Kara Swisher writes for the Daily Beast about her insatiable desire to be married to another woman. Swisher has been gay married four times so far: the non-legal romantic, traditional, family wedding; the rushed, Niagara Falls parking lot Canadian wedding; the voided San Francisco sham wedding; and the final, in-at-the-buzzer, right-before-polls-close-legalizing-Prop-8 [...]

I’m Married in California. What Now?

Slate's Kenji Yoshino has a great roundup of Prop 8's effect on gay couples in California and around the country, detailing the legislation's ramifications for California's gay couples who are looking to marry, those who have already been married in the state, and couples across the country mounting their own legislative fights.
