No, actually it doesn't. You need to reread that chart carefully if that's the conclusion you come to. For the lowest three levels of sexual aggressiveness (eg, *most men*), there is no statistically significant correlation between levels of porn consumption. At level 4 it goes up slightly and level 5 (the most sexually aggressive and violent men), the correlation goes up a great deal.

Malamuth is clear about his conclusion: "for the majority of American men, pornography exposure (even at the highest levels assessed here) is not associated with high levels of sexual aggression"." (link) That's pretty far from "rapists waiting to happen".

This is where I think porn gets a really bad rap. I think most people by now are OK with allowing things like music with violent lyrics or violent video games, even if there's the offhand possibility that somebody who has problems to begin with may be negatively influenced or triggered. In these cases, we're clear that its the individual's responsibility rather than blaming the media. But too many people treat porn as if it were somehow different.

I'm totally down with some porn :)and most people can handle it... but there ARE people who REALLY shouldn't be consuming it... particularly some of the uber-violent stuff that's out there.
