Phat House An Equal-Opportunity Booty Promoter

Are these naked females meant for females or males?

When the Brothers of Swagg present a club night at Oxon Hill's "The Phat House," you know you're in for some promotional butt. The Brothers churn out the most bootylicious club fliers this side of Temple Hills. Bare female backsides, of course, are a time-tested tactic for luring heterosexual males into your two-drink-minimum party den. Now, the Brothers are hoping that women's butts can sell to women, too.

Next month, the Brothers of Swagg will be promoting a new weekly ladies' night—a ladies only night. "NO DUDES ALLOWED," the flier announces. Since this club night caters to "women in the lifestyle," the only men allowed in the Phat House will be the security guards. Amazingly, the advertising remains the same.

Take a look at these two Phat House fliers, and try to determine which one is targeted at "gentlemen only," and which one is targeted at women. Are those two women embracing to please each other, or to please heterosexual men (you know, the usual)? File your best guesses in the comments.

A "nigga-free" event? The i.q. the promoters seem lower than the models waist lines.

#2 is for the ladies right??

  2. #2

Come on kza, the event itself is not "NIGGA FREE", rather, it provides a "NIGGA FREE ATOMOSPHERE." The two concepts are obviously completely different. One implies that the event will actually not have "NIGGAS" while the other implies that it will simply be an ambiance of "NIGGA"less-ness.

    So wrong, so many reasons.

#2 is for the ladies methinks.

  3. #3

I'm going with jules on #2, unless I'm wrong in thinking that "NIGGA" has a male connotation here.

Daniel: Don't think so---both fliers request a "NIGGA FREE ATMOSPHERE."

It also says mature clientele only. Is it all milfs and er filfs in the there?

The male flier said 25+ --- the one for the ladies was 21-and-up.

Thanks Amanda. This made my day. Hysterical for all the wrong reasons. N*gga Free...Wow! I wonder what they will think of next. Are the proprietors of this establishment African-American by chance? That doesn't give them a pass to promote their atmosphere. The irony is that nowhere in your article did you say that the other promotion said Men Only. From what I've heard of some of these clubs, hetero-, bi- and homo- women frequent them as well.

#2 is my choice for Female promotion, but not for the same reasons the earlier commenters gave. If you look at the models, the "booty promotion" is slightly toned down. More emphasis is on the model's "other" attributes. Almost like they tried to make it more sensual, LOL! The two women together don't necessarily say gay...at least to me. Anyways, to complete this journalistic inquiry, how about you check out both events and give a full report in two weeks. LOL! I'm sure they'll give you a discount for your promotion on this website. Heck, the commenters might even put some money towards the two drink minimum tab if they don't. LOL!

Clue #2 -- The first promotional says NO ATHLETIC WEAR. That in itself caters more towards the Men. Usually when women go out to clubs you don't necessarily have to make that distinction. There are exceptions however.

25+ for men and 21+ for women seems right. 25+ is supposed to get the more mature conessiuer. He more than likely isn't a recent college graduate, has gainful employment with disposable income. 21-24 males don't necessarily fit in that demographic. Lowering the age for women takes a little more research to determine...maybe they are lowering the age just to get them in.

You're going to tell us which it is, right Amanda? I seriously can't sleep tonight until I know.

No need to parse the language or the visual cues - the only clue you need to check is the date. #1 is Friday, #2 is Sunday. No way is the Phat House going to put a ladies' night on a Friday - it's a business, after all.

YOU ARE ALL TOO GOOD. Dudes in door number one, ladies in door number two.

No Amanda, EVERYONE in door number two. Err...the backdoor, rather...
