Whenever I see one of those PETA ads, I'm like "Oh my god! Naked people - so scandalous (and titillating!) - PETA is certainly "edgy" and "in my face". They've got my attention - perhaps I'll peruse some of their literature!" Sigh. Anyway, they should've picked Dennis Franz over Charlotte Ross for an ad. He was the actor who was most famous for "showing his buns" on NYPD Blue, after all.

Right, because naked chicks are clearly just tools to be used.

I'm hardly a raging feminist, but I've found myself logging in to HuffPo less and less in recent months exactly because of this. Every time I do, there's more and more flesh (practically always female) scrolling by in the sidebar. It's like, enough, already. It was getting to the point where I was starting to feel like I had to say, "I really do read it for the articles."

As an omnivore, I don't swallow PETA doctrine but... I think it's wonderful that there is a subset of humans that do. It's push and pull and they foster discussion. And they feed some folks lower down on the food chain, too.

I couldn't disagree w/ you more. I think this is a wonderful tool for bringing attention to the plight of non-human animals. You people are good at building the straw man, aren't you?
