“AIDS The Gay Plague” Photo Corner

It's amazing what the Internet can cough up.
UPDATE: The source material for this photoshopped image appears to be this; this image also appears here and here, though the original source of the photo and the photoshopped image are unknown.

What I want to know is how the "procedure" is testing his hypothesis was?? Man-on-horse... really??
Ps. Is that a medal around his neck? Did he win something for this??
2:14 pm
where'd you get this?!?!?
2:34 pm
A friend of mine found it on the Internet. If anyone knows the source, let me know!
2:40 pm
That looks like one of Fred Phelps' grandkids. You might scour http://www.godhatesfags.com for it. I found 17 hits on their internal search for the phrase "AIDS The Gay Plague."
2:41 pm
"Man on Horse - AIDS - No"
Wait a minute? What!? (O_O)
I looked it up for a source and found out that it's a shopped image:
The article where the image originated from:

Sorry kids, no medals for this kind of science project!

Yeah Amanda amazing what the internet will cough up and how you manage to fall hook line and sinker. Now that you can see that it's fake, and this is clearly a minor, somebody's kid, when are you planning on taking it off your blog.Or do you think you're so clever that it should stay up?? Geez.
6:16 pm
I'm not sure what's "clever" about posting a photo with no comment---obviously, this is a photoshopped image! And it's funny!
If the person who took the photo---or photoshopped it---asks me to take it down, I certainly will.
6:16 pm
Oh, and thanks JL for the detective work!

"If the person who took the photo—or photoshopped it—asks me to take it down, I certainly will."
What are you 2 years old? It's unethical that's why you should remove it,and it's a minor. Why would you need another person to ask you to do so? Pretty shabby. If someone posted a photoshopped pic --unbeknowst to you--of you sucking some guy off,it might be funny but it would still be unethical. Wake up.
2:40 pm
Woodley, is that you in the picture?
10:30 pm
This thread is classic. (^_^)

The reason you should at least tag the image as photoshopped is I just got it as an email from my son who was offended that the girl had won an award for such a thing. We all have an obligation to keep fiction clearly labeled and separate from fact.
8:16 pm
Not cool. This kid is being associated with something that she didn't write. It doesn't matter if it's out there somewhere else. The right thing to do is take it down, or at the very least, make it clear - somewhere other than comments posted by other people! - that it's photoshopped. Be a responsible journalist.
4:27 pm
It's from a comedy/parody site; whoever posted this specific photoshopped image cropped the source off the bottom (the same area where the medal is).
And while I agree it's messed up to do that to a picture of a kid, it WAS posted on the internet so this kind of stuff is inevitable. It's part of a larger cluster of photoshopped images here:

Joking aside, it's truly nearly a shame how funny most of them end up being as long as you find out they're fake though, isn't it? What's that say about us, ya know? I know this thread is a year old, but I found it from doing my research after a friend posted it also not knowing whether it's genuine. Amanda certainly shouldn't have to remove it, and she showed her integrity with the update, BUT she should now post the url above as the source.
