In Stunning Turn of Events, I Totally Like Pro-Life Rap!
I was totally prepared to hate the result of the pro-life movement's attempt to appeal to "the youth," but Flipsyde's "Happy Birthday" is just too good:

Lyrical sample:
I never tell a woman what to do with her body.
But if she don't love children, then we can't party.
I think about it every year, so I picked up a pen.
Happy birthday, I love you, whoever you would have been.
Umm, actually, that's pretty awesome. Just block out the part where Flipsyde is all like, "paid for the murder before they even determined sex . . . sometimes I wonder as a fetus if you fought for your life," and this empty-swing rap ballad is surprisingly listenable. Bonus: Flipsyde establishes street cred by admitting to "sippin' on a beer."

Catchy! My favorite pro-life rap song of all time used to be this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmDybzfNBG0, but I think Flipsyde has edged out Common.

"If she doesn't like children then we can't party."
Does he actually mean he would marry any woman he knocks up due to "partying"? Or should he be saying, "If she doesn't like being stuck with children..."
I worked for three years at a clinic that provided abortion, and let me tell you this: when a woman chooses to terminate a pregnancy, it's hardly ever because she doesn't like children. More often it's because she can't afford them, has enough of them at home already, has health problems, or is still a child herself.
I'm tired of hearing people preach against abortion after they have already had one or, in Flipsyde's case, paid for one.
And if it really were the same as murder, would he admit to it? C'mon, get real.
