Note: The Washington City Paper scores a 36 on the Manly Index, indicating that the paper is barely even manly.

Also, they set up a March Madness-style bracket in which the winner of 1-8 goes up against the winner of 2-7, rather than the winner of 4-5 as would normally be the case. Not only is this additional evidence that they’re not very manly, but it suggests that nobody involved in the process is from (the basketball-mad and manly swing state of) Indiana or (the basketball-mad but slightly less manly, because it’s named for a woman, swing state of) North Carolina.
