Marion Barry Endorses Vince Gray In Ward 8

Pulling on a Vince Gray campaign shirt this afternoon, mayor-for-life/Ward 8 Councilmember Marion Barry declared that even U.S. Attorney Ron Machen can't stop Gray's re-election bid.
"He's in it to win it, regardless of what the U.S. Attorney does," Barry said.
Barry, who endorsed Gray in the basement of Matthews Memorial Baptist Church on Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. SE, added [...]

Lanny Davis: Leave Vince Gray Alone

Vince Gray has spent the days following Jeff Thompson's guilty plea doing reputation damage control. Now he's getting some help from an unlikely source: crisis manager Lanny Davis.
Since working as Bill Clinton's special counsel in the 1990s, Davis has lent his talents to such luminaries as Penn State University amid the Jerry Sandusky scandal and various African dictators. (He also helped Pigskins owner Dan Snyder in [...]

Now That Jeff Thompson Is Down, Who’s Next?

And what a job he’d done—Jeff Thompson detailed how he spent more than two million dollars on off-the-books campaigns and disguised campaign contributions to politicians across the country in attempts to secure lucrative contracts for his companies. [...]

Feds: Vince Gray Knew About the Shadow Campaign

Mayor Vince Gray knew about the illicit Jeff Thompson-funded effort to get him elected in 2010, prosecutors say in court papers filed today connected to Thompson's plan to plead guilty to corruption charges.

Report: Jeff Thompson Close to a Plea Deal

The investigation into Thompson, once the owner of a District Medicaid [...]
