LL’s getting old. What else can he think now that former Councilmember Harry Thomas Jr., sentenced to three years in prison in 2012 for stealing from kids, has served almost his entire term?

With a little more than six months left on his sentence, the former Ward 5 councilmember was transferred over the weekend to a Maryland halfway house, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ website. A Bureau of Prisons spokesman declined to comment last week on the location of Thomas, who is expected to be released on March 22, 2015.

Previously, Thomas was incarcerated in an Alabama prison that he briefly shared with similarly felonious Councilmember Michael Brown.

This isn’t Thomas’ first return to the D.C. area since he started living at federal expense. Thomas made a mystery visit to the District while still in custody late last year, during which he reportedly visited the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Meanwhile, one of Thomas’ alleged cronies is still awaiting trial and trying to distance himself from his old boss.
