Tonight! The At-Large Candidates Debate at the Black Cat

MIC-1 (1)

After Sunday night's mayoral-candidate throwdown, we're back tonight for round 2 of Washington City Paper's 2014 Loose Lips debates. The Democratic candidates for an at-large seat on the D.C. Council will face off at 8 p.m. at the Black Cat at 1811 14th Street NW. So far, challengers Nate Bennett-Fleming, Pedro Rubio, and John Settles have confirmed they're attending, although Councilmember Anita Bonds has not. (But feel free to bug her about it on Twitter!) Send your questions to #lldebate on Twitter, and we'll ask a few tonight.

Drinking is encouraged—by the candidates and by you—and entry is free. RSVP here, if you'd like.

I find it disheartening that Councilmember Bonds repeatedly refuses to engage the voting public during the campaign season. If the Councilmembers who are running for Mayor can engage, then she should have the time to as well. The fact that she doesn't tells me she doesn't want my vote.

I disagree - some of these forums are loaded with media friends that are in the camp of other candidates and not worth attending. I never vote for Bond's because she won't help you when she can.
