"Virginia state senator who's apparently never heard of Bob McDonnell mocks the District's ethics problems."

Oh, he's definitely heard of McDonnell -- he's appearing in McDonnell's defense as a "character witness".

It's still embarrassing that we can be criticized by Virginia, but that bit of double standard helps take some of the sting out of it.

So much for SEis4ME's assumption that GGW would endorse Gray again... 0 for 2.

  • SEis4ME

Uhmm...you hafta totally discount the WPost's endorsement due to its lack of substance. Remember, they were impressed enough about her status as Fenty protege, that they decided to include that fact in the endorsement.

GGW was different in that they decided to go w/their heart based solely on his views wrt transit. Yeah it is a quite narrow way to think about choosing a mayor but GGW is dedicated to transit. At a minimum, ita endorsement can b seen as somewhat objective in ways the WPost was absolutely not.

  • Roscoe’s Wetsuit

The fact that you could read the GGW endorsement (full disclosure, I think Alpert is a buffoon) and come away with their endorsement being solely based on transit shows a truly alarming (but unsurprising) lack of reading comprehension.

I don't know what to tell you - maybe read more slowly, or read things twice?

  • SEis4ME

You're right, I shoulda said "urban planning" since they did give a blurb to affordable housing with Wells' non serious proposal.

But if you couple that w.the contributor's complaints about Gray's lackluster appointments, DDOT (transit) is the issue.

Alpert's not a buffoon. Their endorsement at least is logical because they went with their hearts for someone they're more comfortable w/ despite his poor showing around the city.
