If you received a phone call or text message saying that early voting locations open on Monday, be wary! The D.C. Board of Elections has discovered texts and robocalls that are putting out inaccurate early voting dates.

DCBOE heard from multiple people about the calls and texts, according to DCBOE spokeswoman Tamara Robinson. The messages claimed that the District’s Early Voting Centers will open on March 17, when in reality, they’ll open on March 22. Only the Judiciary Square polling place will be open on March 17.

“We were unable to confirm where the messages came from, as we didn’t see the actual texts or hear the recordings,” Robinson writes in an email.

Ward 4 Councilmember Muriel Bowser‘s campaign was contacted by DCBOE after the messages went out, but campaign manager Bo Shuff says he’s not behind the mystery messages. “I simply haven’t done any robocalls or robotexts,” Shuff says.

If you’ve got a copy of the recording or the text, feel free to forward it to lips@washingtoncitypaper.com.
