Watch Tommy Wells Sing Karaoke

Tommy Wells' karaoke fundraiser last night at 14th Street's Policy didn't draw much of a crowd, but it did result in Wells and his entourage taking the stage for a rendition of Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer".

Is the song an unhappy description of Wells' chances to reach the mayor's office? Maybe not—one campaign worker at the event tells LL that their real song was "Signed, Sealed, Delivered," which sounds awfully money order-ish to LL.

I guess myopic little twits (Courtlan Milloy, All Rights Reserved) only come in one color.

  • mizwillis

    What's the matter, LL?
Didn't like my comments about the picture you posted not showing any White supporters for Wells?

No filthy language, no attempts at insulting people and no lies, but not posted either.

That moderation speaks volumes about your objectivity.

Just curious, why didn't you post my comments?

  • tony

Tommy Wells will never be Mayor of this city. And you can add Jack Evans, David Catania and Muriel Bowser to that list.

  • tony

The black community will always determine who will lead this city. And if you don't like it then leave.
    Good the fuck riddance!

    Black Power lives!

The names are there, but I don't hear thier voices in what they write
    Just saying.

Hey, it's pretty cool to see Tommy Wells at least be human and not in the typical way of DC politicians (i.e., corruption).

    "I'll be there for you
These five words I swear to you
When you breathe I want to be the air for you
    I'll be there for you
I'd live and I'd die for you
I'd steal the sun from the sky for you
Words can't say what love can do
    I'll be there for you"

MizWi, I'm not as sure about a conspiracy as I am about a pretty awful moderation system. Im rather accustomed to my posts being held in moderation whether im complimentary or not.

But I also think the race war may get uglier this time around than the last. If people like McDuffie break Wells' way, he will forever be linked to the same sort of "oh no you didn't" drama that follows Bowser in her support for Fenty. Wells will get some of the antiGray and former Fenty sect of black voters..the ones he believes are smarter, progressive and more relevant than we Gray voters.

Bowser might take black voters who are uncomfortable with Wells but otherwise natural Gray voters. Evans will take a reasonable amount (outside of Dupont/Ward 6) of Wells votes but likely not enough of Gray's nor Bowser.

Absent any indictment and as the incumbent, Gray will run on his record and the severity of which will propel him into a 2nd term.

  • SEis4ME

    And yes Tony sounds silly

  • tony

...it may be silly but its the truth. After all I have correctly called the last two elections with almost precision.

Black folks in this city are not going to vote for Tommy Wells in any significant way. He wont even get 10% percent of the black folks not even from anti-gray black voters. Bowser probably would be the beneficiary of such votes.

Mayor Gray will win wards 8,7,5, and 4 BY SIGNIFICANT MARGINS and the remaining votes will be split between the remaining candidates. It's as simple as that.

    1. Maybe it's because one doesn't hear voices in that which is written whether the names are there or not.

    2. Did I read #8 correctly? STEAL the sun from the sky?
Oh my, wouldn't that cause the death of all life forms on earth? What would that be considered 'organicide'? Guess it couldn't be considered corruption or a crime because there would be no Machen around to prosecute.

    3. I guess I agree SE. Re: conspiracy, LL's answer was well taken and even a little heartwarming (for some odd reason). The last thing we need is an ugly race war after the Trayvon thing.

I never did trust that smarmy looking McDuffie. Caught him dissing Marion at an event shortly after he was elected. His C-O-S is as slippery as goose grease. That woman is an opportunistic wanna-be. She and McDuffie think he can become Mayor one day. LOL

McDuffie will never be elected Mayor of DC. He has already torn his behind with too many power brokers. That C-O-S leads him around by her apron strings and DC citizens need a REAL man as Mayor. Not a (surrogate) Mama's boy.

    4. Jack The Knife Evans is not in the race to win it. He would have far surpassed Ms Bowser in the money department if he was really serious about it. I have a feeling Jack Evans has a hidden agenda and it ain't Muriel or Tommy.

    5. Why don't they understand it the politician's record that should be the flagstaff of a campaign? Gray will not be indicted, he will run again, and he will win. The naysayers on this blog spend far too much time belittling the man who is the head of our city to see the truth and the daylight. They are sore losers or haters for whatever reason.

    6. It was sad but also a bit satisfying to read of the reaction some of the high and mighty Posties had about the sale. Nikita left an event in SE looking as if she had lost her best friend. At least I thought it was she. Maybe it was someone else and it was wishful thinking on my friends and on my part. If it was Nikita we saw maybe now she can relate to how Sulaimon Brown was feeling when she outed him at that live presser immediately after he found out he didn't have a job.

And that scamp I went to school with named Colbert King?
I hope I'll be reading his swan song article in the very near future.

As a fellow blogger says: ONE CITAY!!!!!!!

  • mizwillis

Okay, LL: Please check your moderation queue.

  • drez

Ah, there's the mizwillis voice I know and love. Here's a little light reading for you:

  • mizwillis

    Don't flatter yourself, munchkin.
    You obviously don't get it.
You only rated 24 words including punctuation marks.
Eventually I will have tuned you out completely.
And your words are light enough for me.
