Tonight: D.C. Council At-Large Debate at the Black Cat
The special election for an at-large D.C. Council seat is barely a week away. Tonight, join Washington City Paper and your would-be leaders from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on the main stage at the Black Cat (1811 14th St. NW) for a debate.
Doors open at 7 p.m. The moderators will be LL Alan Suderman, NBC4's Tom Sherwood, and Washington Informer staff writer James Wright.
Candidates who will appear, in the order that you'll see them on your ballots next week:
- Matt Frumin
- Perry Redd
- Elissa Silverman
- Patrick Mara
- Paul Zukerberg
Incumbent D.C. Councilmember Anita Bonds won't attend, due to what staff says is a prior commitment. (Examiner columnist Jonetta Rose Barras, who had been scheduled to participate as well, has withdrawn in order to prevent any concerns about fairness given her endorsement of Mara and her criticism of Bonds.) Thanks to NBC4 contributor Chuck Thies for help organizing. City Paper will use the debate to inform our endorsement in the race, which will appear in this week's paper.
