And Then There Were 8

The herd has thinned. Of the 20 people who picked up petitions to run in the April special at-large D.C. Council election, only eight candidates submitted the required 3,000 signatures by today's 5 p.m. deadline.

They are: Councilmember Anita Bonds, former Councilmember Michael Brown, Matthew Frumin, Patrick Mara, Perry Redd, John Settles, Elissa Silverman, and Paul Zuckerberg.

Starting Saturday, the public and/or other candidates will have ten days to question the legitimacy of those signatures, which could reduce the number of candidates even more.

What a sad joke Michael Brown has become. I guess he has been reduced to the point where he simply needs to be running a campaign, any campaign no matter how hopeless, in order to have a campaign fund from which to make money disappear.

Michael it is called a j-o-b! Get a j-o-b! I know your dad was supposedly a big muckety muck but he has been dead for nearly 16 years. If you feel compelled to continue exploiting your father, write a book (or more to your style have someone else write the book and put your name, the last name being the same as your once big muckety muck father).

You are not going to be mayor. Your political career in DC is over. You are a nice enough guy but get a j-o-b!

    Go Zuckerberg!

    F these fools!

It will be interesting to see how little of the vote Brown actually gets. Maybe after this he will finally get the message. I agree that perhaps this will give him one more chance to see some money "disappear". At least that might give him a chance to get caught up on his mortgage and/or invest in Kwame "Fully Loaded" Brown's "new business".

well who will win...cause anita bonds is just holding the space for now.

I think name recognition goes a very long way in DC elections. As much as he may not deserve it, I think Michael Brown will win. Good luck to Anita Bonds, but I don't think it's going to happen for here unless she can get her name out there and build a great campaign organization. As much as I hate to say it, Marion Barry's support is crucial for her.

Anita Bonds is quite capable and Yes!! She definitely does have MB's support. He campaign organization was really on it's job when we encountered it over the past week-end. SHE WILL BE ELECTED AND SHE WILL BE AN EXCELLENT COUNCIL WOMAN.

My only concern is Ft Meyer Construction. I really will need to hear what she has to say about that second job before she gets my vote, MB supporter or not.

nana, you're not helping Zuckerberg, sir.
You are hurting him. I don't know him from a hole in the ground, but I will NEVER vote for him because of YOU.
