Jack Evans should only be mayor if he quits his second job and repays the city for his secondary salary.

He should also allow his company to be audited for any mishandlings through his department.

Point blank Candidates should pass security checks as well as random election audits.

You should not be able to run for a political seat if you have the following

    A. Not paid your taxes
    B. Any outstanding tickets
    C. Criminal record within past 10 years
    D. Have respectable credit score
    E. Be able to pass a written exam on balancing budgets and policy
    F. Get your signatures

once you have fulfilled those requirements then you should be able to run for office..

  • I Support Crooks

Segments D-F. You SHOULD have respectable credit, be able to pass the written exam, and get your signatures

Jack should be investigated for alleged kickbacks from developers , liquor lawyers and other bribes . Check his lobbyist connections and we have the DC Abranoff /Cunningham Connection . Secret Storage Places will be raided !

  • noodlez

    FUCK FENTY AND THE POST!

    DON'T GET IT TWISTED!
GRAY WON 4 OF THE MOST POPULOUS WARDS IN THE CITY BY LARGE MARGINS.

THE POST POLL IS BIASED AND BAITING FOLK TO CREATE A SCENARIO THAT WOULD NEVER COME TO FRUITION!

  • Wait, What?

I have to laugh at all this, especially because during the early days of his administration, Vince was all about expressing contrition and taking "responsibility" even though he "didn't know" that staff were hired at salaries in excess of limits, there was rampany cronyism, Sillyman Brown's hiring, etc.

Yet now, where is his talk of "taking responsibility"? Totally absent. Because he never intended on taking actual responsibility for anything, beyond lip service.

    That's not leadership.

Hey NE John: GET OUTTA TOWN BY MIDNIGHT OR LOSE FACE.

  • umis habit hummm

Damn Sam!! I was keepin' that storage stuff to myself so Da Big Jack wouldn't move his shit to some other place; but maybe it's time to let it all hang out. The SW storage units across from the National's stadium, Mr. Machem. That is, if you're really interested in outing ALL POLS suspected of criminal activity. Better hurry, but I think they have cameras and really good records.

  • James

    Damn,
I would be embarrassed if I worked for the Post! This once respected paper is desperate for news. Fenty had $5million (most of it illegal as well) and still lost to someone who did not want to run anyway. Stop trying to bait AF to come back and everyone knows your pols are worthless.

  • KeepinItReal

Will never, EVER vote for Fenty again. Not jumping out of the pot into the fire. Hell no!

  • AntiPioneer

A snowball stands a better chance in hades than Fenty does for me to cast a ballot for him. Too divisive.

  • City Dude

To call it Shadow Campaign is a cop out..It was the campaign that was involved..There is no SHADOW!!

  • SaveWard7

The Washington Post surveys and polls are always biased - they don't cover all of DC - just select locations. adrian fenty (aka wife-beater and refusing to come out of the closet) - not a snowball chance of becoming Mayor again. Tony Williams (who does not want a return engagement) would be a write-in before that loser fenty!

@NOODLEZ, FWIW Gray didn't win the four biggest wards -- he won the four *smallest* ones. 2010 Census data, released in advance of redistricting, showed that the most populous ward in DC was Ward 3, with a population of 79,915. It was followed by Ward 2 (77,152), Ward 6 (76,598), Ward 1 (76,197), Ward 4 (75,773), Ward 5 (74,308), and Ward 7 (71,068), with Ward 8 (70,712) bringing up the rear. Democrats do make up a larger proportion of the four smaller wards have a than the four larger wards, which helped Gray in the primary (Ward 4 has the most registered Democrats despite being only fifth in total population), but the Post's city-wide figures include independents and minor-party supporters.

Also, while it's true that Gray won four wards that might have more people eligible to vote in the Democratic primary than the four he lost, he did it in 2010. People may have changed their minds since then. It does happen. I was undecided between Fenty and Gray until very late in the campaign, and although I ultimately broke for Fenty if I had been polled as to whether I personally approved of Gray, I would definitely have said yes. (At the time, my worry was that we had two good contenders running for Mayor and two clowns running for Chairman.) Today, I would say that I do not personally approve of Gray, and if the election were re-held today my decision would be easy.

@CMINUS-DUDE LOVE THE STATISTICAL BREAKDOWN WHICH IN MY OPINION MAKES THE FENSTER LOOKS EVEN WORSE. CENSUS DATA AND BLACK FOLK DO NOT GO TOGETHER LIKE CHOCOLATE AND PEANUT BUTTER SO THOSE NUMBERS YOU QUOTED ARE A BIT OFF.

JUST BECAUSE WHITE FOLK IN WARDS 3, 2 AND 6 GOT THE MEMO TO MAKE SURE THEY TURN THEIR FORMS IN TO BE COUNTED DOESN'T EQUATE TO OUTNUMBERING BLACK FOLK. THIS IS WHITE FOLK FOOLS GOLD. GOOD MONEY WOULD PROBABLY BE LAID ON WARD 5 BEING THE MOST POPULOUS WARD IN THE CITY WITH WARD 4 BRINGING UP A CLOSE 2ND.

YOU BROKE FOR FENTY BECAUSE IT WAS THE THING TO DO LIKE CREATING AN ACCOUNT ON FACEBOOK OR TWITTER. AS A WARD 4ER I KNEW HE WAS SOME SHIT! OLDER BLACK FOLK LIKE MY MOM THOUGHT BECAUSE HE HAD THE LOOK, EDUCATION AND TIME IN THE WARD 4 SEAT THAT HE WAS CAPABLE. I KNEW BETTA!!! HERE YOU HAVE ME SCREAMING FOR THE OL’ BLACK WOMAN (CROPP) AND MY MOM ARGUING FOR FAGGIE FENTY. I COULDN’T GO OVER HER HOUSE FOR A MONTH!

SLIM NO ONE IS PERFECT! HOWEVER I WOULD GO WITH SOMEONE PROVEN THAN TO GAMBLE WITH AN UNKNOWN AND BE SET BACK YEARS. SEE D.C. PUBLIC SCHOOLS!! I WOULD VOTE FOR MAYOR GRAY AGAIN BECAUSE THE CITY IS RUNNING FINE SYSTEMATICALLY AND THIS IS HIS BAILIWICK. FENTY IS NO MORE THAN A BLACK GEORGE W. BUSH AND THE FOLK ON THE COUNCIL, EXCEPT MENDO, ALL HAVE BAGGAGE THAT DOESN’T EQUATE TO RUNNING THE CITY.

MAYOR GRAY GAVE HIS FOLK A SHOT BUT THEY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF A SITUATION AND BETRAYED HIS TRUST. THIS IS WHERE BLACK FOLK AND WHITE FOLK ARE DIFFERENT. WE DON'T BUY INTO THAT ACCESSORY SHIT. THAT SHIT WAS A MADE UP CHARGE TO PROBABLY TO LOCK UP MORE BLACKS BACK IN THE DAY. THIS IS WHERE THE SNITCHING LINE IS DRAWN AND IT IS ALONG RACIAL LINES. Y'ALL WANT TO BLAME MAYOR GRAY FOR DUMB SHIT THAT OCCURRED DURING THE CAMPAIGN AND THE FIRST WEEKS OF HIS ADMIN THAT HE ADDRESSED WHEN HE FOUND OUT.

IT IS TIME TO GET OVER THE FACT THAT FENTY LOST AND IT IS TIME TO MOVE ON.

    ONE CITY.

  • mizluvsco

@Noodlez: Tell Mama she done good. Real good.

  • Truth hurts

WaPo shouldn't be polling about imaginery fenty/gray rematches. It detracts from the real issue...Gray and the miserable one city voters elected. Fenty, to his credit, hasn't even once commented on Gray's troubles.

  • umis habit hummm

@ T h: To Fenty's good sense and probably following his counsel's directives. He is sufficiently saavy enough to know the same thing Gray knows. Shut the Fuck Up when azzholes want you to open your mouth and put you foot in it.

Fenty & Co are probably hiding under some beds somewhere praying the Feds don't come looking for them.

If I were as pessimistic as you and your blog buddies, I'd be predicting some really bad times for Fenty and his gang of thieves. Nickles included. Though he's been in the game long enough to cross his t's and dot his i's.
Too bad. He could use a little, big BOO!! too now.

  • cminus

@NOODLEZ, I also voted for Cropp over Fenty, back in 2006, and I still think she would have been a better mayor than either Fenty or Gray. It was a much easier choice than Gray vs. Fenty.

But, whenever I criticized Fenty for giving too much power to creeps like Peter Nickles or Ron Moten, nobody ever accused me of being unable to get over Cropp's loss. Why is it that if I say that Gray has lost my respect, it must be because I'm still wishing for Fenty specifically, rather than just being disappointed in Gray's campaign?

  • umis habit hummm

@ciminus: I know you directed your post to Noodlez, but can't help but notice you said "disappointed in Gray's campaign." What about the man's much more successful (in spite of the haters) administration?

Glad to hear you're not wishing for Fenty, that would be a Fool's Folly. Yeah, yeah, yeah! I know the Mayor kept some of the Fenty people in place. Still don't know or understand why, but 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' may have something to do with things. Even though some of those azzholes were not dignified enough to appreciate holding their jobs because some of them made fun of Gray for keeping them on. Strange People..

  • noodlez

@C-:BECAUSE YOU VOTED FOR FENTY. DUH!!!!
