Street Cars makes Baltimore look dirty and the streets damage cars like no other. Why would DC want to adopt the same problems for us residents?

Instead of street-cars why not invest in improving our Metro System?

  • Barrie Daneker

@Loud...you must be kidding me. First of all if they are dirty, then those peps in Bmore are the ones making it dirty! Invest in Metro, and what the hell do you think Streetcars are. you want us to spend even more money putting more metro lines underground. You're an idiot!

  • Drez

This isn't the first conflicted board appt Gray has proffered. It's interesting: Fenty was dinged for appointing unqualified cronies. Now Gray is dinged for the exact opposite- appointing people whose qualifications are not in question but who have ongoing business in front of the city in the exact subject area they would rule on.
DC is a small town, but this is just fucking stupid.

  • Loud

@BarrieDaneker Streetcars are stupid, and they damage cars that have to travel along those routes daily. The wear & tear of street cars and their modified tracks will make the city look terrible.

2nd. Why have a streetcar when we push people to ride their bikes? That will definitely cause a lot of accidents and deaths.

What will happen to Metro Buses once these streetcars come about? You will now have Metro Buses, Pedastrians, Cyclist, Cars, and Street Cars all in the city.. Just Bad

Lastly do not call me an idiot. Call anyone else on here idiot, just not me. That's disrespectful, and I will smack the shit out of you if you think otherwise.

  • Politicsasusual

    @ loud, well said.....

  • drez

    Loud_
    You are an idiot.
    And an ignorant one, too.

  • Loud

@Drez Your mother is ignorant and gives amazing top while listening to the Best of Chuck Brown.

Please stop the negative comments, I can stoop down to that level and entertain but this is not the time to do so.

  • Wait, What?

    @Loud:

Incredible analysis. Care to provide specifics, preferably with data, or should we just trust that you are some sort of expert despite all evidence to the contrary?

  • Loud

@WaitWhat the Baltimore police department has information on the number of deaths/accidents caused by streetcars.

Students from UMBC did a project last summer where they had a poll as to how many people prefer streetcars over another driving lane since both take up about the same space. Over 87% of people chose to change the streetcar lane into another driving lane.

  • Mr.Remember

Oooo I say fight!!! Loud and Drez. Hold-up wait-a-minute let me find the right spot, for y'all to do the darn thing. Where are thr vacant lots when you need one? How about the alley behind the Shrimp Boat? See y'all around 3:30 pm.

  • Loud

No need to fight or instigate, sometimes you all show a level of disrespect and the only way to recognize it is gratuitous is to stoop down to that level and entertain it.

I have no problems with anyone, I just feel that the streetcar situation has been longwinded, a waste of money and honestly not in the BEST interest of residents.

Anywho, if people honestly want to meet, we can do it around 1st & Bates or Sursum Cordas around 8pm. On weekends around Barry Farms. I'm not a violent person but I will knock your ass out to prove a point.

However I feel the conversations should not reach that level.

  • drez

...is to stoop down to that level and entertain it.<...
And sometimes, this shit's just entertaining

I'm most impressed/entertained by the comparison to Baltimore. Aside from sharing an affinity for crabcakes, I can't imagine what we have in common with that city.

  • thatshitcray

Jeez I didn't know streetcars could get someone so excited. Loud seems to have his panties in a bunch so be careful. He sounds like a genuine internet tough guy.

  • SEis4ME

@Drez, dinged for the exact opposite- appointing people whose qualifications are not in question but who have ongoing business in front of the city in the exact subject area they would rule on.

Saint Wells nor Holland has stated that the firm has any current business with DC Water.

You say they do have ongoing business. And you arrived at that "fact" how again?

  • KeepInItReal

Facs are unecessary if their are not convenient.
