Dear U.S. Attorney Ron Machen,
LL will be off next week, vacationing in Mexico. Please don't do anything big while he's gone.
Who wants to vacation in Mexico? Why not Paris, Madrid, Athens, London, Rome, Dublin?
Please. Please take the time. I won't be in Mexico, but I will be home nursing my knee from some surprise surgery. You need a vacation, too, Mr. Machen. This coming week would be perfect for you.
Get well Tom!
HOW POMPOUS OF THE MEDIA MEGALOMANIACS(YOU KNOW, AS IN POWER OF THE PRESS?)
DO YO THANG MR. M. IT WILL SERVE THEM RIGHT IF THEY MISS ANYTHING. PERSONALLY, I HOPE YOU'RE ABOUT DONE DOIN' YO THANG.
STILL, SURPRISE SURGERY AS WELL AS ANY KNEE SURGERY IS SERIOUS SURGERY & WISH YOU WELL AS WELL TOM!!!
Both Sherwood and Suderman out? Time for you to help team Farmer and Blinder to swoop in, Mr. Machen.
Does this mean no moderation? I can go back to speculating about what nooDLez' wife was doing behind the Georgia Ave Safeway last saturday night!
Race: I doubt WCP pays anyone well enough for an overseas vacation! Even with the groupon...
My animals will not poop on City Paper when it is old, they like to poop on the fresh printed editions and I appreciate their devotion to the new rag trashy CP.
Lets all have fun!!! I am willing to place a dollar on the table that they all will be indicted in June!!
DEAD MEN WALKING!!!
@ Susan: Who is the proverbial "they"?
All politicians who rec'd bundled contributions from JT?
Would that also include the national candidates he contributed to? I understand one of them has already provided him with another lucrative contract.
Susan, you're one sick puppy if you think indictments create 'fun' for anybody.
There are no winners in this shit. The constituents of any indicted politician will be the losers.
One thing I can say for Vince Gray: In spite of all the nitpickers, he has continued to do what he was elected to do and regardless how impressive a job he's doing the media and some assholes will not let him be. I didn't vote for him in '06 or '10, but you can best believe I WILL vote for him if he runs for office again. The fact that he has continued to stand tall in the face of the shitstorm created by the media, shows me he is definitely a strong leader. Now moderate this.
Why would anybody want to see his elected official get indicted? I just don't fuckin' understand it.
@git: Why would anybody want to see his elected official get indicted? I just don't fuckin' understand it.
I would if I thought they were corrupt. I'm not talking about VG here, more like HTJ cases. I feel what you're saying though. Some people are more mad than others.
Now moderate this.
Good luck with that.
I'm looking for a rip-roaring good time too! My dollar is on May 27th.
@KB: Guess I should have qualified that "fuckin' understand it" statement with: Why would anybody ENJOY seeing his elected official get indicted?
@NEJ: If I remember correctly, you were going out in a ski mask at night to wreak some illegal havoc. Bet spending a couple of nights in lock-up would have given you better perspective on the horrors of being a part of the criminal justice system. Though some call me a creep, I wouldn't wish that shit on Fenty, Skinner or Sulliamon(?) Brown. Learned my lesson out in Upper Marlboro many years ago. I ain't been there since.
HTJ is a little spoled brat who felt he was entitled to take, take, take, and take some more. Wonder where he learned that culture. His Daddy? His Mama? Hmmmmm?
Would have gotten away with it too if he hadn't called out Fenty, ergo, Nickles. True justice would be seeing that entire crew under the Machen Microscope. But I still don't wish it on them because I voted Fenty in every time he ran and I feel a modicum of responsibility because of my one vote each time. It was only after seeing what they did to HTJ that I began to see the light about the Fenty crew. Compared to what they got away with, HJT was very small potatoes. He got what he deserved, but so far it looks as if Fenty, Nickles etal. got away shitty clean with looting the DC Treasury.
