  • Good morning sweet readers! LL's bosses have iPhone him to iPhone verbs with the word "iPhone" to iPhone up web traffic. News time:

    You Don't Mow Another Guy's Lawn: WaPo editorial writer Jo-Ann Armao spent part of the weekend schlepping out to PG County to check up on a grass cutting company (while the Metro section was running a story on unfilled board and commission appointments). Why? To figure out why a piddly $1.7 million-a-year lawn mowing contract has received so much attention from Mayor Vince Gray and the council. The previously unreported fight is between a Baltimore-based company that mows grass for cheap and another Maryland/District based company that mows for not-so-cheap. Guess which one may wind up one top? Read the deets here.

    AFTER THE JUMP: Audit Peaceoholics Again? Tony Williams' New Gig; Gray and Gtown...

    Do It Again: Ward 1 Councilmember Jim Graham wants another audit of Peaceoholics, the district's favorite anti-youth violence non-profit co-founded by Ronald Moten. Graham held a lengthy roundtable yesterday in which Ward 7 Councilmember Yvette Alexander, who requested the initial audit of Peaceoholics, told Moten that it was nothing personal just business, city business. Moten, who wants Alexander's council seat, says he's being targeted for political reasons.

    In Other News: Former D.C. mayor joins a law firm. Nope, not that one. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton moves to make D.C. the Grand Caymans on the Potomac. Gray woos GTown. U Street is great. GOP ignores D.C.

    Council sked: Legislative meeting (No cussin')

    Gray sked: D.C. Reads 2011 Campaign Launch at 10:45 a.m.; D.C. One Fund 2011-2012 Kick-Off Ceremony at 11 a.m.; Mayor’s “Moving Forward Together as One City” ANC Roundtable at 7 p.m.

      let me guess...
      Lorenz is owned by ex Fenty supporter Keith Lomax, and HTJ and Gray are pissed that he undercut some CBI kickback scheme.

    • Truth Hurts

      One City, baby!

      Trying to remember who became mayor by hurling allegations of cronyism, contract steering, influence peddling, blah blah blah, at the former mayor.
