Ted Loza Pleads Guilty

Former Ward 1 Councilmember Jim Graham's top aide, Ted Loza, has pled guilty to corruption charges. The plea was not part of any type of deal with the feds, according to his lawyer.

"Ted always acted in the best interest of the citizens of the District of Columbia" says Loza's lawyer, according to colleague Rend Smith.

Smith will have a write up soon with all the details. (LL promises!)

One thing LL just found poking around in court files is that it appears the government planned on presenting Graham's phone and hotel records as evidence had the case gone to trial. Take a look at this list and note the "JG" records. The "Greenberg" on the list, by the way, is FBI Special Agent Jay Greenberg, who is mentioned elsewhere in court records as being "intimately involved in the investigation of this case for about three years."

Will this mean, after Ted serve time in prison, will he be deported back to his native Ecuador?

I don't think Ted Loza is quilty by himself. In my opinion, his former Council boss may be quilty too of coruption.

this guy helped elect one of the cohorts of Chavez in his native Ecuador, if he would have been a citizen the state dept. would have been on his case, but because he is not, he got away with murder, literally all the problems that chavez, the chavez people and his buddy buddies presidents have done in south america and the world. So he should also be checked out by Homeland Security for going to help a tyrant get elected while working for a city official.

Check him out Homeland Security people.

Of course que guey, this is just your narrow opinion on Evo Morales who got elected based on the neglect of the working middle class and the poor from the ruling class. Whatever you can say about Chavez and his hubris, one thing he has done is build new schools and hospitals, construct roads and provided running water to communities which never had it before. That is why he was reelected. In addition, international politics has nothing to do with bad judgment on behalf of a public servant.
