Gray Transition and Inauguration Donors
Behold the list of donors to Mayor Vince Gray's transition and inauguration fête.
Most interesting donation LL saw: A $10k gift from the Embassy of the State of Qatar. Maybe it's a consolation prize for stealing the 2022 World Cup. There's also plenty o' cash from developers and other monied interests who are accustomed to writing checks to politicians.
If you happen to be filled with regret by not seeing your name on the list, fret not. The Post reports that Gray still needs to raise about $170k to cover the $900k needed for both the transition and the inauguration, with $100k going to cover just the cost of putting carpet down at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
LL is still waiting on list of expenses from Gray, as well as donations and expenses from Chairman Kwame Brown.

It will be interesting to see how much of this money ended up in Reuben Charles account. It will also be interesting to see what family members of the Kwame Brown extended family received in their accounts.

Great link to WaPo's piece. Only Nikita would write fluff about Reuben "is my tax/lien/judgment tab below 500k yet?" Charles raking in hundreds of thousands from out of state entities to finance DC's one city transition.
Add up the dough from parking lot interests. Not likely Gray's gonna raise the commuter parking taxes any time soon.

Do any (cough Jemal) donors (cough Barnes) on that list still owe hundreds of thousands of dollars in back DC taxes, and was the money they donated returned, or at least applied to those overdue tax bills (and, cough, the charitable deduction disallowed).

I wish this Mayor would give back what was granted via the general election.
Why has he failed for years to recognize his immediate need for an overall face make-over starting from hair down to the neck. He attended GW and they have a good and safte plastic surgery team, so call them up NOW.
The holes in his head, frankenstein eyebrows, and rotten teeth hurts my eyes.
DC this Mayor must stop being engaged and endorsing the request of the upper whites and Jews in DC, and become allegiant to the Blacks, who put his behind into office.
