No Question Too Lame For Gray To Answer
Looks like Adrian Fenty isn't the only one with a video camera. Mayoral hopeful Vincent Gray has responded, sorta, to the "Some people say..." ads the Green Team has put on TV with a YouTube campaign that is destined to be watched by millions thousands hundreds at the very least one person: LL.
Here's the best one:
In the other spots, Gray answers any and every question that's been posed to him on Twitter or Facebook, including his thoughts on Nats phenom Stephen Strasburg's need to run down ground balls.
LL has a hard time seeing these low-budget videos surpassing Justin Bieber in online popularity, but who knows?
The real question is when/if Gray is going to have enough funds to mount an effective TV campaign against Fenty, whose sitting on roughly $3 million in campaign funds. Fenty's ads have been out for several weeks. Gray's camp can only say "stay tuned," when asked when theirs are coming.

Really? "Gray answers any and every question that's been posed to him on Twitter or Facebook"
Alan, did you read CP's current cover story about Gray? "Gray wouldn't say whether Bereano is helping his campaign"
Maybe CP ought to have posed the question to Gray via Twitter/Facebook given that he wouldn't answer when CP asked in person.

@Truth Hurts,
It would be more beneficial for you to read, comprehend, THEN comment on the article.
Alan stated that he responds to every question via Twitter/Facebook. IF, and I repeat, IF you submitted questions that weren't answered, your post would make perfect sense.
But asking Alan whether someone else did something that you CHOSE not to do makes as much sense as listening to Sarah Palin discuss foreign affairs.
In short, it's a useless, petty attack. And that's the truth. Although I doubt it hurts.
Be interesting.
Be original.

Truth you want reporters to report. DIdn't you know that went the way of the 8 track? they have to do it poorly, We have to tell them that they are wrong and point to easily obtained information as proof.
Get off your high horse and welcome to the world of phone it in journalism. :)

No fair!
I sent his campaign two questions over Facebook.
"Are you going to keep Rhee if you are elected and she wants to stay?"
"Did you support the firing of those poor performing students last week?"
I didn't get an answer. I guess I should have asked him about Albert Hansworth's chances of winning MVP this year. Or, how he keeps his hair so black at 70 years old.

Oh, now my comments are bring moderated. Cool!
3:55 pm
One question too lame: "What do you stand for outside of process?"
8:17 pm
Sigh...apparently disagreeing with the CP Gray bias puts you in the auto-moderation queue.

At least he answers something - anything. Mayor has repeatedly refused to answer questions from citizens and reporters. I have seen and heard Fenty either ignore questions or say "I'm not going to answer that" too many times. It's astounding. He and his office have repeatedly refused to respond to requests for information and ignore emails. My friend recently sent an email requesting information and help regarding events pertaining to the murder of her daughter in March of this year. She finally received a response from the mayor's office and it was ridiculous - they might as well have ignored her email. It would have been better than the vague response she received - made up of some general statements and some that were just outright inaccurate. Mayor Fenty closed the Boys and Girls club in Ward 8 despite many in that community begging him not to. He said it would be replaced. It has been a couple of years now and nothing has been done. He has not responded to enquiries on this. In this city ward 8 is probably the most in need of a Boys and Girls Club. I voted for Fenty and I feel like a fool. I do not expect any mayor to respond to everything - I am sure there are countless complaints, insults, etc. But, I cannot support an elected official who routinely refuses to respond to questions and requests for information regarding decisions and actions he has made for this city. I will not deny the mayor the improvements he has made, but I am also very troubled by how he has prioritized improvements. I have lived in ward 1 for 13 years and it has changed dramatically - most changes for the good. Crime has gone way down and I admit the vast investment going into Columbia Heights and Mount Pleasant have made it a "better" neighborhood. It's a new "hot" spot now and tons of people are moving here. It sure looks like this area is a priority. When Target, etc went in a few years ago 14th street, Columbia road, etc were completely torn up for all of the new construction. The streets were done - they had to be. And, now many of those streets are being torn up again and redone with sidewalks being widened etc. I would like to know what this is costing the city during this time when the economy is terrible and the recent dc budget has drastically cut funding to many social programs. Programs that assist the most disadvantaged in our city (many of them children who are living in severe poverty).

What would be a sufficient answer for your Rez? Yes he knows Bereano. Yes they are good friends. Yes he helps with his campaign. Yes, Bereano was convicted of fraud and served time for it. So utilizing your logic of guilty by association- Fenty is in serious trouble then. From our favorite ex-con Moten to the race-baiting ass-clown Sinclair to the shady shakedowns of Karim to the backroom dealings of Jannarone. I wonder how many answers Fenty would provided if asked of these associations- all of which were faciliated by him being in power.

@ larry-THE SOON TO BE FORMER MAYOR WILL TELL YOU, IF HE ANSWERED YOU, THAT THE YOUNG FOLK OF THAT AREA CAN GO TO A REC CENTER INSTEAD. WHICH IS PROBABLY OUT OF THE IMMEDIATE AREA AND WILL POSSIBLY LEAD TO TURF KILLINGS/VIOLENCE IF FOLK DARE TO VENTURE OUT THEIR OWN HOOD TRYING TO FIND SOMETHING TO DO??!

@Adrian Bent-Me-DONT WASTE YOUR TIME TRYIN TO CONVINCE THOSE BAMAS. THEY ARE LIKE ONE MAN, $100 AND A ONE TRACK MIND.

I find it funny that folks say the mayor doesn't answer folks. Last Thursday, I had to wait over 30 minutes to finish a conversation with him as folks were approaching him on the street after he left the urban league convention. It was ironic because he had some place to be in like 30 minutes and couldn't be pulled away from real city issues. But I'm sorry, I forgot the city that I love is no longer about solving problems but more so about if I can tweet and facebook with you about a yard sign. Folks wonder why we haven't received state hood and are the laughing stock of the country, well part of it has to do with the fact that our residents care more about someone holding their hand and playing nice with them than delivering results.

Good riddance Fenty.
