Senate Warmly Welcomes Shaun Donovan

Shaun Donovan, Obama’s nominee to head the Department of Housing and Urban Development, appeared before the Senate banking committee yesterday. 

Apparently, they were very excited to see him!

“He’s far more qualified than I was,” stated Senator Mel Martinez, who served as President Bush’s first housing secretary, according to the New York Times.

Obama Picks Shaun Donovan to Be HUD Secretary

On Saturday, President-Elect Barack Obama announced his pick for Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development: Shaun Donovan. Donovan is currently New York City Commissioner of Housing, Preservation and Development, and served under Clinton as deputy assistant secretary for multi-family housing at HUD.
