DDOT Announces Grants to Barracks Row, Washington Area Bicyclist Association, and Others

Yesterday, the District Department of Transportation announced 10 grant recipients receiving funds for "non-traditional projects that are linked to the District’s transportation system," with grants ranging from $50,000 to $579,500.
Back in June, the Department first started soliciting applications for the program, which had some $2 million available. Entries were due in early August.

Earlier this year, lawyers George Rickman and Jane Zara alleged  in federal court that the Franklin Shelter closure was part of the systemic expulsion of homeless people from the city's center.
The judge granted them a "stay," thereby allowing them to temporarily postpone the case, [...]
