Housing Complex

Be Our Boss for a Day

All right, readers: We give up. No matter what we write about—whether it's arts or development, Anacostia or Palisades—you always know better, as you make abundantly clear in the comments. And you should; after all, there are only a small handful of us, and there are thousands of you living in every neighborhood and working in every industry in the city.

So for one issue, we're putting you in charge. On Jan. 24, we'll publish our second annual Answers Issue. You, dear reader, are the assignment editor, and we are your humble servants. This is your chance to get answers to the questions you've always wanted to ask about the District of Columbia.

Been wondering what the deal is with that weird vacant building on your block? We'll find out. Puzzled by the city's move to close the waiting list for public housing? We'll explain it. Confused about what the upcoming zoning update means for your plans to set up a hotel in your backyard? We'll tell you (though your odds aren't good).

Take a look at last year's issue for inspiration, and then submit a question or two or 10 HERE. Your wish is our command....

    OK, I'll go first
I'd like to know which charter schools rent property from private owners and how much these schools pay (total and as percentage of their revenues) to their landlords.
