Seriously, is there really a housing affordability problem in DC when you can purchase a 1600 square foot rowhouse for $140k? Say what you will about the neighborhood, you are close to schools, close to metros, close to bike paths, and close to an up and coming mainstreet. It's a perception problem, or if you will, an affordability problem in the most desirable neighborhoods.

My rough calc on a mortgage payment here for a decent 30 year rate is approximately $800 per month.

Somebody will get a great deal here, good for them.
