Passive House In a Box? Soon!

Just wanted to share the latest renderings for the Empowerhouse, a project of Parsons The New School of Design and others that will break ground in Deanwood on June 29 as part of the Solar Decathlon. It's supposed to be modular and easily replicable—the kind of thing that Habitat for Humanity could build all over the country instead of their standard clapboard housing. The team doesn't know how much they might cost build once they're in wider production, but the idea is that a standard set of blueprints will make finding the right materials easier and cheaper to come by. Neat.
