Chat with the NCPC Here Next Wednesday!
As much as we sometimes hate on the National Capital Planning Commission in this space, they've lately embarked on a laudable transparency initiative, posting all sorts of documents online and reaching out to start conversations about the issues they deal with. To that end, next Wednesday we'll be having one of those online chats here at Housing Complex on the Southwest Ecodistrict, a project now underway that will transform that godawful federal space around 10th Street SW and Maryland Avenue into a living, breathing, less impactful urban district (I touched on the issue in a column a few months ago, and NCPC has also put together a video on the existing conditions). It's a fascinating but confusing idea, and in advance of a public meeting on the subject the next day, you'll have a chance to ask planners Diane Sullivan and Elizabeth Miller what it's all about–and provide your own ideas.
So, remember: Chat. Here. Wednesday February 16th, 1:00 p.m. Be there!
