The Bus Wars Escalate

First, there were the Chinatown buses: Fung Wah, New Century, Apex, etc. Then came the ones that didn't smell like pee (usually): Megabus, DC2NY, and Bolt. This second generation was a huge leap forward in the condition of those Washingtonians who make pilgrimages to New York or Boston on a regular basis.
Vamoose, though, is about to kick it up a notch. On June 24th, the company will debut its "Gold Bus," an ultra-super-luxury vehicle with service between Bethesda (naturally) and midtown Manhattan. Media are invited to preview the motor coach and interview its "hand-picked" driver and company officials, before a live brass band sends the Gold Bus off on its maiden commercial voyage. The trip will set you back $50 one-way, which is about twice the other bus services, and half what you'll pay for Amtrak.
"This is a revolutionary new concept," says Vamoose regional manager Yvonne Brooks-Little, in a promotional video. "I think this is setting a new trend in bus travel...It's a 21st century bus. This bus is like no other."

$50 is too much for one way. Megabus and/or Bolt bus are comfortable enough with free Wifi and plugs for electronics that it does not make sense to pay double for this new service. A bus is a bus. I could careless if their bus has leather seats or small LCD screens on every seat.

Wow! wide leather seats + more leg room + only 36 passengers. And, at $50 bucks, no 4-hour-blabbing college students... Slam dunk deal!!

Hey Vamoose has been using this bus for a while now on its regular schedule i got to ride on it twice and i must tell you its a bus one of a kind, Luxury leather seats only on one side and one on the other which makes it very wide and comfortable, TRY IT YOU WILL LOVE IT.
BTW Vamoose has wifi on all buses not only this one.

$50 for a bus trip is a bit pricey, but I would still give it a shot. I've been using Vamoose for a while and their personal service cannot be matched.

Amtrak is $49 one way for those who have the sense to plan.

I can not conceive of why anyone would want to fly to NYC!
