Krystal From the Real World DC Discusses Her “Once in a Lifetime Experience”

If you've seen more than one season, you know the drill: Cast arrives. Cast members start crushing on each other. Cast members, already self-obsessed, become increasingly fixated on their images and nervous about the rejections of fellow cast members. Cast members bring home random people to hook up with so viewers will think they're "ballers." Splash, splash. It's hot tub time—classic!
Andrew executed this tried and true tactic for ego self-preservation on last week's episode. Local Krystal Leigh Cunningham was his willing participant. Below the jump, she answers questions about her night in the spotlight—errrrr infrared night vision—and the morning after:
So what didn't they show on the episode?
I first went in the hot tub with a bunch of the guys. They kind of cut all that so it looks like I went straight in with Andrew.They cut the whole getting-to-kn0w-everybody part before to 'hey, I'm in the hot tub' all of a sudden.
Being in the hot tub on Real World, did it feel like "I'm stepping into this weird reality show tradition?"
I was a theater major so obviously the cameras didn't make me nervous. So it was kind of one of those things, it was filmed in July, and then it got down to November, and I was like 'I wonder how they're going to edit this.'
I don't regret going there. I had tons of fun. It was awesome. It was a once in a lifetime experience, but I was nervous about how they would edit it and I would be portrayed. It does kind of suck for people to blog about you and judge you. But I don't regret anything.
Were you in one of the season promos?
Yeah, there were two promos that had me. One was so quick you couldn't even see it. And the second one, I was like "We're going in the hot tub!" So I saw that and I was like "Oh boy–here we go." But I didn't think it would be that much time on me. The only thing that makes me uncomfortable is it's really awkward to see yourself kiss.
So did the evening end with you just feeling uncomfortable about the girl cast members sneaking around near the bedroom?
I mean, that was totally edited. When I got out of the hot tub, I was wearing a robe. Andrew and I lay in the bed. We were having a good conversation–just talking. I did kiss him. The camera crew was nearby. I made sure nothing was going to happen–I would never ever do that.
The next morning, Andrew was nice. He paid for my cab. After, I would just see him out and we were still friends. So the scene where they're showing me saying "Go to bed hun" that was actually me telling them "Come to your room. Go to bed. Nothing's going to happen in here." Like I'm not hooking up with your roommate–you can come in and go to bed. They edited it to make it look really snappy.
And Andrew said to his roommates the next day that nothing happened...
Yeah, I ended up that day [the day after the episode aired], g-chatting him and saying "thank you for being honest." That could have totally been portrayed differently.

“Krystal Leigh Cunningham,” is the 27/28 year old woman that hooked up with DC’s Real World cast member Andrew in the hot tub on the 2nd episode. Little history on Krystal; she is the girl that needed attention growing up. After her mother paraded her around in pageants before she could walk who wouldn’t? Her childhood bedroom was plastered with ribbons and awards from her forced 80’s brush with “Toddlers in Tiaras,” that she would brag about to “friends” growing up which consequently made her a laugh! She was the girl throughout elementary, middle and high school that tried oh so desperately to make friends, but NO amount of money or make-up allowed her to do so. She was a very prude sheltered girl that unfortunately turned her into a “freak of a socialite.” Once she graduated from high school her history was unknown so she was able to start over, found herself some fake friends that accepted her…FINALLY! Krystal bought her fake boobies after spending many years working for Abercrombie & Fitch. Now she is a event promo girl in the DC area flaunting her body and being molested by men while offering free shots. No matter how much you; “fake and bake,” spray, purchase knock off designer studs, plaster your face with make-up and grind your flat ass with men on grungy DC dance floors you will never find true love…So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Krystal Leigh Cunningham put out the fire following your 15 minutes of fame from your hot tub cameo on DC’s Real World and get with the real world and stop dressing up in nasty outfits. Save your skin from cancer and get a REAL LIFE and a REAL job! Oh, but don’t worry your appearance will be syndicated forever…which includes your “granny panties,” that really, really need to be explained!

Krystal is my friend and a sweet sweet girl. Just because she drinks a lot and goes home with guys sometimes the same night she meets them, doesn't make her a bad person. She just wanted to be on TV and did what she had to do. Yeah, she likes attention, but who doesn't? Don't hate on her because she pretty, drives a sweet car, has a hottie boyfriend, cool weekend job. If you even watched the clip- she did not have sex!!!! Everyone here is jealous because she dates a hot model in DC and she wears the best outfits. Get a life!

The long-standing and current overwhelming opinion in the psychology community concerning children's beauty pageants is that they are not in the best interests of healthy child development. Perhaps we should be blaming her mother for creating such a self-absorbed person with no inner beauty or class.
It baffles me how this person constantly refers to herself as a "socialite." She neither comes from a good family nor promotes/raises funds for any noteworthy philantropic causes. The only thing this person promotes is herself. Krystal has no talents, no redeeming qualities, and for whatever reason thinks she is better than everyone else. Krystal, YOU ARE NOT A SOCIALITE. According to YOU maybe, but to the rest of the real socialites in DC, you're a sad poser. Drinking and hooking up on the dance floor doesn't make you a socialite. Take out your bump it, shop at somewhere other than Forever 21, rip off the fake nails and eyelashes, wash off the tan, and loosen up your extensions, and accept yourself for what you really are.
You self-promoted and hyped up your Real World cameo as if was your début into high society. You wanted the attention, and now you're regretting it (despite your claims that you have no regrets). Several other young females in DC have been on reality TV, but none have been trashed as much as you. I wonder why...

Hahaha we refered to her in college as snaggletooth. She was the biggest fraternity attention whore, always getting drunk and loud to draw attention to herself. It's sad to see someone who needs to validate their life by being in a very minor local spotlight. She is like the northern Virginia Heidi montag. That being said seeing her try to sleaze her way into the real world house is possibly the least shocking thing I've seen all morning. What a sad girl.

JEALOUSY IS A DISEASE PEOPLE!
I love the way Krystal dresses, she has great fashion sense. She has raised a lot of money in the past for my charity and works hard to make others happy. She would never stoop as low as you people who spend a full day trash talking.
She does have a really good looking couple of guys she is dating, could the people writing these things perhaps want one of those guys and are pissed so they are hating? Looks like it!
I also have seen Krystal in a bikini in person at various summer pool parties and she has a great body. So nice try people.
I really think people that spend time writing all this rude stuff really have no self esteem and are probably really really unattractive. It's a shame just because your ugly that you have to lash out by picking on someone as pretty as Krystal.

I've only seen Krystal with guys she really really likes. She's never one to take home a random guy, EVER! She has a good heart and is very caring. I've only seen her hang out with guys she truly likes and has feelings for. I know for a fact usually if a guy is lucky he'll get kisses and that's it. You'd have to be her long term boyfriend to get anymore than that people. I happen to know this for a fact. She dated one of my best friends in college.

Just pathetic... so so so pathetic and I am not reffering to the young blondy who was brave enough to enter a world of cruel intentions. I am however talking about the people who have nothing better to do with their lives then tear down another person. The insults on her family, her appearance and her personality are so deeply rooted in hate and ignorance that I feel bad for you. Because while you find the energy and the time to write such harsh things she is out their living her life and being the person she always has been- A kind, energetic, and loving person who would do anything for her family and friends. Maybe in the time you spend stalking her - because come on people commenting on a blog like this takes some searching- you could find yourself a life and perhaps a group of friends who actually care enough about you to have your back. Whats even more apparent is that the sad excuses for people who took time to write nasty comments have some problems of their own to look after - like insecurity issues and ohh yeah STALKER issues. Because I think its hillarious that you can be so affected by one person that you know every site you can go on to try and bring her down. Grow up, go to church, and take your own comments to your hypocritical comments to heart because calling someone else trashy just makes you un -classy.

I'm not technically a hater–the girl is actually cute in real life.
However, she definitely puts the HO in hospitality. Clearly she wanted to be on tv, can't blame her there. But maybe she should go for a show better fit for her own age…like Murder, She Wrote.
Also, this "hot" model you speak of…the one she’s "dating"…he's a ho too. And, yes, gorgeous six-pack he sports…but they're both as shallow as a puddle of hamster piss in the Grand Canyon.

I dated Krystal 2 years ago for about 2/3 months. I do want to advise anyone that sleeps with her to get checked out. She has "flare ups" every now and then and you WILL CATCH SOMETHING! Wear a rubber, maybe two, and be careful what your mouth touches.

If you're really one of her best friends, I probably know you. She doesn't have many real friends. Most are fake, backstabbers trying to ride the bogus social escalator. Consider it a PSA. I need some good karma in my life. Krystal was called a "kissing slut" in college. That was then, this is now. If you have the status and the money, you can get more than just a kiss and an itch that keeps on itching.
