The New Wilson Senior High School

Wilson GB 1 Dec 2009

As City Desk's Mike DeBonis reported yesterday, Wilson Senior High School will soon be under renovation. Actually, the city's official groundbreaking was today, and initial work will begin during Winter break. But the students will remain in their usual building until the end of the year—then they'll be heading over to classrooms on the University of the District of Columbia's campus.

When they return to their Tenleytown school in 2011, they will stroll into a structure updated by Cox Graae + Spack Architects (GCS) of Washington. The city chose the firm through a competitive process, which drew 21 proposals for the first round.

I still don't see a colored entrance and white only entrance doors...We are still talking about going back to the old-glory days when education was soooooooo phenemonal. In one of the pictures I see one person running and the other person walking...is this eluding that one is running away and the other one is walking in or vice-a-versa.

I guess once the renovations are complete, the parents in the Tenleytown neighborhoods will meet with Rhee to formulate a strategy to keep students from outside of Ward 3 out of the newly renovated Wilson. Out-of-boundary parents take notes from the Hardy School situation.
