Wal-Mart in Ward 8–This Time for Real?

I missed this News8 story from last week:

But how much was I missing really? A Washington Business Journal article from late August claims that Wal-Mart is “moving aggressively to work out a deal.”

But Wal-Mart doled out a lukewarm response to News8’s correspondent:

“So what is Walmart saying? A spokesperson tells us there is some interest in locating a store in D.C. Right now, the closest store is Landover Hills. It says that there isn’t really anything tangible going on right now. And they certainly looked at Poplar Point as an opportunity, and that’s going back two years ago. But nothing has materialized as a result of that.”
