Housing Complex: News and Fluff on D.C. Real Estate

Results Gym Building to Add Three Floors?

We all know that the U Street/14th Street area is hot, hot, hot! these days. So why not just make more of it to fawn over, right?

Last month, I reported on a plan to add an additional level to one of 14th Street’s largest, empty (and historical) commercial buildings. Then today, deep inside the pages of The Dupont Current, I spotted a similar tale: A huge, old warehouse-like building at 1612 U Street—home to Results Gym, Bang Salon, Cafe 1612–may be adding an additional three floors, plus a rooftop pool.

But will Results Gym be enjoying the expansion, and room for new saunas, steam rooms, pilates corners and jacuzzis?

That’s where the story gets a little dramatic. Building owner David von Storch is the owner of Results competitor Vida Fitness. In the Current article, Results owner Doug Jefferies says Vida is coming in and replacing Results in the building.

Also: According to the story, ANC commissioners expect to hear a presentation on the plan at a meeting tonight. The Dupont ANC meets at the Jewish Community Center at 7 pm at the south east corner of 16th Street and Q Street.
