This is great! I hope they build it soon... Ft Totten is a great area with many single family homes, but really no restaurants, CVS, etc... and the residents need that... so more residents hopefully will encourage companies to open up shop around there...

I am extremely excited about the development projects in Fort Totten. The residents srely needs continued gentrification. Hopefully, the development will encourage an infusion of new residents which will assist with future further development. I have read several blogs with frustration because i moved to Northern petworth one year ago and I am tired of the drug dealers, crime and, lack of development in an area thats minutes from Montgomery county, Prince Georges county, capitol Hill, and RockCreek Park. The location is excellent! Besides gentrification is going to occur anyway. Petworth essentially is the only affordable area in north west for new people moving to the District. As a result, the residents can expect major changes in the next 5 years similiar to Columbia Heights.

Well, it sounds win-win-win to me: improve the reputation of one of DC's least desirable neighborhoods, add a grocery store to an area that desperately needs one, and give the local nutcases something to prejudge and rail about.
