There is no park- it's a relatively unsafe water treatment site totally shut off to the outside world.

it's interesting to see how the mcmillan advisory group has rebranded itself as the mcmillan park committee. the fact is that there's no park there right now, and if the fences could be taken down tomorrow, it still wouldn't be a park. i was on the tour (there's me in the first photo), and it was very interesting to watch the interaction between the pro-development and anti-development people. i swear if there weren't basic human dignity rules against getting into fistfights, these people would have clawed each others' eyeballs out at the drop of a hat.

Last time I checked, McMillan is south of the Hospital complex and WEST (not east, as per the article) of North Capitol St., NW. I only drive past there twice a day, five times a week though so don't rely on me to do your fact-checking for you.

"This 25-acre site is located just south of the Washington Hospital Center and just east of North Capitol Street. It is fenced-off and rarely open, though another tour was offered earlier this week."

Heheh... you don't know dangerous until they put in the Chinese/sub takeout and the Dollar store, and all the "youth" from North Capitol start to gather there. I'd be happier having it fenced off and vacant.

What good does this site presently do for anyone? It's fenced off and dangerous presently. Develop it with nice rowhouses (or lowrise apts), parkspace, and some basic retail and call it a day.
