ha! i actually brought this house (in article) after the price was reduced. being my first purchase (and living in the Woodner for 3 yrs) i failed to notice the details and signs of a quick flip craftsmanship. since i have housemates residing w/ me i've accepted it as it is (effectively reducing the monthly cost to below what i paid as a renter).

in all fairness and kudos to them, major issues that occurred after the paperwork was signed honored by them.

These guys are bottom-feeders. They get the homes to renovate by taking advantage of people who do not know any better and are desperate for whatever reasons (old folks looking to offload before heading to a nursing home or homeowners who have an emergency). They probably do a half-assed job that barely covers the basic and then they probably have fake multiple offers on the table, forcing people to think that the property is high in demand and that they need to make an offer over the "asking" price.

So where does Express Homebuyers find the house to purchase, fix, and flip in the first place. As a potential buyer, I check out all the relevant websites and am not finding depressed prices. How can I find these great deals, do the fixing myself and cut out the Express guys altogether?

Express Homebuyers is terrible. I am currently renting a 1 bedroom garden level condominium that was renovated by Express Homebuyers. It is appalling how poor of a job they did on this renovation process.

1) The windows may be new (and only a single pane), but they are exceedingly drafty, you get a coolbreeze all winter long.
2) They "forgot" to wire the units for cable.
3) For the units with gas stoves, they failed to actually connect these to the city gas lines.
4) The walls are paper thin between the units and upstairs neighbos. On most occasions it sounds as though my upstairs neighbor is going to fall through the ceiling on any given morning.
5) The electricity isnt actauuly wired correctly. Pepco was appalled at the way this building was wired.
6) Express has failed to live up to any of the promises they told me when I rented this apartment, and I cannot wait fo my lease to end.

I would sincerely reccomend against buying anything they built!!
