Washington D.C. Fourth on List of Energy Efficient Cities

Energy Star is a program created by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy that encourages energy-efficient building through product rating systems, guidelines, and resources.

Today, the EPA released the results of its study examining which cities had the most Energy Star-qualified buildings. Here are the ten that top the list:

1. Los Angeles
2. San Francisco
3. Houston
4. Washington
5. Dallas-Fort Worth
6. Chicago
7. Denver
8. Minneapolis-St. Paul
9. Atlanta
10. Seattle
