Ruth,

Why do you keep referring to Clarke Simpson? He does not own the property. He did not develop the property. He did not design the house. He is not selling the property. His company was paid by me to build the house.

You are correct that this house was never a "screw you" house, nor was it ever a "spite" house. The width limit of 12' was established long before I voluntarily chose to purchase the land. This fact negates any idea that it was built out of spite.

I am an architect. I developed the house as a speculative investment. But, more important, I designed the house to be an expression of creativity and a harmonious composition of elements in what I believed to be a positive response to the strict limits of the site.

If you continue to refer to this property, please feel free to contact me. I would be happy to discuss any questions you may have.
