Top D.C. Auction Properties
Last Friday's auction of long-vacant D.C. properties generated a potential $4.845 million for the District, if all the sales go through. The following properties produced the top five bidding prices—these are also the only bids at $300,000 or more, according to a list forwarded to me by Angelita Colón-Francia, spokesperson for the Department of Housing and Community Development.

100 Bryant St. N.W. (Bloomingdale)
Bid Price: $380,000
3004 13th St. N.W. (Columbia Heights)
$380,000
2305 1st St. N.W. (Bloomingdale)
$320,000

57 Bryant Street N.W. (Bloomingdale)
$320,000
475 Florida Avenue N.W. ($300,000) (Shaw)
What do you think? Was the price right? Keep this in mind: Potential buyers were not allowed to step foot in the properties before they put up their hands to bid at the auction.

Will the District publish the names of the developers who were successful bidders?

Actually it will produce more for the District than just the auction price because after the renovations, the new owners will be paying property tax. Also brings up the value of the surrounding properties. It's all good.
