		<description>i would hardly call U street &quot;the real DC&quot;, if that even exists anymore. it went from working class/low-income to mostly super yuppie affluent (except a couple subsidized buildings) in a matter of a few years. i would guess that 80-90% of current U street residents aren&#039;t even originally from DC. 
we used to live up 13th st. until we got priced out when our good landlady finally cashed in and sold our rowhouse, coverting it to condos...
went totalllly off topic but yes I think U street will continue to develop and Barack&#039;s people are certainly shining a spotlight on the area. U street will thrive even with the current housing market problems.</description>
