Own a Piece of Barracks Row (Or Something Close Enough)
The above parcel of land, which includes 810, 816 and 820 Potomac Ave. SE, is up for sale, according to the Washington Business Journal. The newspaper’s calling it “Barracks Row,” though it’s clearly south of the freeway. Yesterday, I wrote a blog post listing eight neighborhood names often used to refer to the general vicinity south of the elevated highway to the Anacostia. I didn’t include “Barracks Row.” Apparently my reporting skills/memory are no match for the imaginations of D.C.’s developers, real estate agents, and property owners.
What can I say? I do my best.

i’m pretty sure that this section of 8th Street IS still Barrack’s row. The comemrcial strip pre-datest he highway. It isn’t talking about the ballpark area.

yeah, just because the freeway is there, and the area south of the freeway is kind of cut off, this is still barracks row. i’d say it runs the whole stretch from pennsylvania ave down to m street.
