The made-from-scratch turkey burgers with ginger and pineapple, at the Gypsy Tent Bar, are OUT OF THIS WORLD. I've had them twice, and I hope to have one again on Wednesday!

I'm just sayin'.

i love the new venue setup. i think it makes it a lot easier on people not familiar with fringe (my two couchsurfers from fl, for example).
it's also BRILLIANT for uberfringing, allowing you to pop from redrum to the bedroom in 30 seconds, and make that 5 minute window you find between shows. last year i was missing stuff simply because i couldn't get across town in time.

also, saw closet land tonite. it's pretty messed up, and some of the conventions didn't need to be there (including the entire last monologue. i'd already said all of that stuff to myself. it weakened the message to say it out loud for me). But, it is still sitting solidly within my top 5 shows right now (and i have a strong predilection for comedy and musicals, so make of that what you will)

also, fringeguy, thank you. you are the only person who has even mentioned the r&g! we had 60 peeps today. where's my purge?

I LOOOOVE the fact that it's all so concentrated -- hang out at the Tent with a beer for half an hour, and you're sure to either see a friend who will tell you what show to go to, or eavesdrop on enough excited conversations about the lineup that evening to get the good scoop. Thank goodness we've had pretty good weather -- the whole thing will be different if it hits 95 degrees or we get a couple of serious evening storms, since there's no air conditioning to speak of in at least many of the venues, and no appreciable indoor lobby space either.

Yesterday (Saturday), the intersection at 7th had a Downtown DC BID officer directing traffic and shepherding pedestrians all day long -- sometimes two. It contributed to the festival/fair feeling of the place.

Hooray for Fringe! Hooray for the Mt. Vernon neighborhood! Maybe cheese it on the God stuff -- I think many of the middle schoolers are in town for some Christian conference.

Saw "Jack the Ticket Ripper" last night. It wasn't sophisticated humor, but I had a good time.
