You didn’t so much misquote as EDIT me, Graham, which was of course well within your rights; I merely noted that “empirically” and “constitutionally” aren’t synonyms. And that I didn’t refer to the performers as “this bunch”, as I am not the dad from Leave it to Beaver.

This show is just as great as Trey says it is, and I’m glad he spent some virtual ink on those “agony and ecstasy” bits, because they’re there for a reason: The layers of darkness they add don’t get washed away clean once the chorus kicks in. They hang around, reminding you that religious fervor is just, at the end of the day, fervor, with its own brand of carnality.

Plus seriously, you guys: Felicia Curry. I mean, all the performers bring it, but DAMN.
