Virtuosic, riveting performance by one of DC's original avant-garde thespians. (You know the building that now houses St.Ex at the corner of 14th & T? Back in the early 80's that was B. Stanley's "Jarry Theatre" - named in honor of the French playwright and provocateur.) I saw this play at the Edinburgh Fringe festival last summer, but that production paled in comparison to Theatre du Jour's latest staging. "Vincent" is no fusty costume drama, rather it's a paean to all those who dedicate their lives to making art that defies convention and as such are relegated to the fringes of society (pun absolutely intended.) All that, AND the venue has *air-conditioning".
