Fringe & Purge

Fringe (ish) News Flash

Fire alarm interrupts Shakespeare Theatre’s Hamlet just as the Mousetrap scene starts; fire engines in the street outside the Lansburgh Theatre.

Audience (milling about in street) fears the alarm is genuine…

UPDATE, 4:40 pm: Nah, not so much. Somebody pulled an alarm somewhere in the building. One sighs with relief. Although one is cognizant that if the building had burned, one wouldn’t have been forced to confront the reality that the next scheduld production on that stage is Annie Potts in Love Letters.

hmmm…. is it not true that the very first performance ever in the Lansburgh was a Hamlet that also was interrupted by a fire alarm? and was not Richard Henrich of A Swedish Tiger in said production?

So…. you’re suggesting *Henrich* pulled the alarm, for the sake of nostalgia?
